At Physical Solutions, we run a variety of group classes to suit people with a range of different goals and physical abilities. Whether you are looking to improve your overall fitness, sports performance, or to simply move more freely and efficiently, we have a group for you. Enquire today and let us know how we can help.
If you are interested in joining a group class, we recommend that you have an individual session with one of our Physiotherapists or Exercise Physiologists prior to commencement to allow us to fully understand areas that will require particular attention, and so that we can tailor a program to suit your specific needs.
What types of groups do we offer?
It’s well known, strong and powerful glutes play a major role preventing injuries and improving physical performance. Whether you’re an aspiring athlete, or just want to put curves back in the right places, our booty blaster sessions are a must.
In these group classes, one of our experienced practitioners will guide you through a range of exercises specifically designed to activate the glutes and tone the stomach all in a fun and challenging environment. We will motivate you and work along aside with you to achieve your desired fitness goals.
Physical Solutions is now offering Group classes to individuals with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes. These classes focus on resistance and cardiovascular training relevant to improving symptoms of metabolic syndrome and diabetes. These classes are supervised by our Accredited Exercise Physiologist who understands your condition and can make sure your exercise is performed just right!
These sessions can be privately funded with a rebate from your health fund, or can be covered by Medicare. Medicare will provide an initial assessment and 8 follow up sessions fully funded by them. Contact your G.P. to discuss if you are eligible for the Medicare program.
General Well Being
If you are looking for a class to help you get motivated and into shape, look no further. We offer general fitness classes that cater for all abilities. This includes everyone from high level athletes, all the way to the older adult, even people who have never participated in an exercise program before.
These classes are all tailored to suit your individual fitness level, and incorporate important aspects of well-being including correct breathing mechanics. Plus we include a range of exercises to improve overall strength and cardiovascular fitness so you can reach those goals you’ve been aiming for.
The junior classes are for anyone up to the age of 18 who wants to reduce injury risk or improve performance for their chosen sport. The focus of the class will be on improving movement quality through mobility and strength programs based off our FMS and SFMA assessments. Programs will be tailored to meet individual demands of your sport so that you can get ahead of the competition. If you want to outlast and outperform everyone else, optimise your body’s potential by joining these groups.
The movement classes are built upon a mindful approach to expressing the full range of natural human movements. In these classes, you will gain the skills, strength and mobility which are essential to prevent injury and improve your physical performance. You will be educated in a controlled and friendly environment, building confidence and awareness in your body.
The skills you will be practicing include gait patterns such as; rolling, crawling, climbing, jumping and balancing, and; coordination skills such as lifting, carrying, throwing and catching.
Poor range of motion at soft tissue sites and joints can impact upon daily movement activities as well as potentially decrease athletic performance. These classes are your chance to reclaim your flexibility and improve those niggly, tight areas in your body.
Whether your goal is to prevent or manage injury, improve performance or just feel freer, this is the right one for you! These classes use effective mobility strategies and equipment such as active and passive stretching, foam rolling, trigger point release and band work to release the sore and tight muscles and fascia.
Our clinical instructors will work with you and teach you how to use these mobility tools so you can work on your own personal restrictions and develop a better understanding of your body. As our instructors have a strong rehabilitation and human movement background, we will help you discover new sites for you to work on that you never knew you needed, building a more supple and robust body.
Maintaining muscle strength and joint mobility as we age is one of the most effective ways to reduce arthritic pain, prevent falls and improve quality of life and independence. Our over 50’s group offers individualised programs for anyone recovering from a joint replacement, surgery or wanting to improve their mobility. Our group sessions are overseen by a physio or exercise physiologist and are a fun way to stay active!
Injuries. The bane of any active person. We believe a huge majority of injuries are completely preventable through correct preparation and conditioning. Think muscle strains, overuse injuries such as tendinopathies or stress fractures, innocuous tweaked joints and even many joint dislocations. We have seen too many of these preventable cases plague our patients. From the budding sporting career that is put to a halt, to people wanting to get moving to lose weight. Do not leave it to chance. With a commitment to our Physio designed programs you can ensure you have minimised your chances of sustaining an injury when you step onto the pavement, swimming pool or playing field.
